What is the Towing Capability of the 2024 RAM 1500?

You don’t get a truck if you don’t have some work for it to do. For many, that’s the work of getting a trailer from point A, to point B. So in the lineup of 2024 pickup trucks, how does the Ram 1500 compare? Join the truck experts here at
Hinton Dodge Chrysler as we take a look.

A Powerful Engine

The 2024 Ram 1500 comes with three different engine options, each offering different levels of power for your hauling and towing needs. The best for towing is the available 5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque, which delivers a staggering 12,750 lbs (5,783 kg) of maximum towing capacity. Don’t sell the 3.6L Pentastar™ V6 with eTorque short, though. It has a maximum towing weight of 7,710 lbs (3,496 kg), which can handle all but the largest trailers.

Towing Features

The pure pulling power in the 2024 Ram 1500 is impressive, but what other features help with towing? First up is the available Trailer Reverse Steering Control System. This knob lets you steer your trailer, while the system controls the steering wheel, making reversing with a trailer as easy as possible. The available multifunction 60/40 split tailgate allows easy access to the truck bed, even when the trailer is hooked up. Available Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection can automatically sense the length of your trailer and account for it.
